I have been doing far more traveling than usual for work, and noticed that I have been taking far less photos than usual as well. I have a beautiful, and rather expensive, dslr that ends up staying in my hotel room every trip, simply because it's too much to carry when running around to meetings. I end up turning to my iphone when needed, but truthfully I am a camera person and I always come home regretting that I didn't somehow make the effort to lug around my camera bag.
I have decided to pick up a smaller camera for quick day trips that I can keep in my back pocket when I am on the go.
Does anyone have a small/thin camera they rely on to always take the perfect shot when there is no time to play around?
Asked some of my photographer friends and here are their pics:
Rachel thinks Leica V-Lux and says it's worth the investment

I am in the market for the same thing...my big nikon is too much to lug around. I heard that the Lumix is great but don't know much about it. Can't wait to hear what you go with...
happy friday
I always, always have my small Canon Elph on me. You just never know what you'll see.
Carlee from Deliciously Organized (deliciouslyorganized.blogspot.com) just mentioned she and her (newly married!) husband just picked up a Canon PowerShot S100 for their honeymoon here: http://deliciouslyorganized.blogspot.com/2012/07/costa-rica-honeymoon-manuel-antonio.html
She swears by it and her pictures are proof how great of a camera it is!
I've taken some surprisingly fantastic pictures with my Sony Cybershot with Carl Zeiss lens. It is teeny tiny, and even the zoom lens is an internal one. I've been very happy with mine. (The number on it is DCS T 110)
The Nikon One is supposed to be a compact DSLR with interchangeable lenses.... It comes in pretty colors... But it is not cheap! http://amzn.to/Mt5UzM
Go with the Canon G9 or G10....fits in your pocket and AMAZING. I also take round with me a fuji instax mini camera. Small enough to fit in your bag...but OH the pictures you can get off of these are divine. Little monet paintings.

I am a camera snob...I can vouch for that canon your friend recommended, I have been wanting it FOREVER. {Although, I can't remember if it was the 320 or 110..}
