When it comes to polka dots: too much is never enough, (see my instagram page for proof) but keep your beauty look simple with eye liner and a fresh lip.

I am leaving today for sunny California. There are few places in the world I feel more at home than in CA. I have a meeting with a client there, so I am bringing a friend and turning it into a much needed girls trip. Don't worry- we'll share our adventures with you via twitter.

How to Look Expensive

For the past year I have been working on a number of projects that I am not allowed to spill the beans on until they are complete or public. I finally get to share a big one with you.

I am so very proud to announce that I illustrated a book!

 How To Look Expensive, by Andrea Pomerantz Lustig, hits stores this week. I had such a lovely time working on this project. Most of my hours included getting to know Andrea (who has now become a dear friend) and bringing her to life on paper. I also got to illustrate boxes upon BOXES of beauty product so my desk has been covered in bottles, brushes and compacts for a year.

I hope you'll pick it up next time you are shopping! I have obviously read it and I think you'll love all tricks she learned in her time as a beauty editor.

Stella Jean

 I don't know how I happened upon the Stella Jean website this week, but I could not take my eyes off of the prints there. My favorite thing about this is how the pencil skirts and dresses are paired with button down shirts. Do you like how it looks? 

I think I have the inspiration for the remainder of my summer wardrobe. Such impeccable styling.

My Top Ten!

While the illustration still remains the main part of my job, I receive countless emails asking about

Last week I went to South Carolina for a little work, and alot of play. 

I stayed at the Market Common, MB which was amazing (you may have seen via twitter).

The rooms are large with full kitchens, living areas, and washer/dryers so you can just move right in for the week. And because the MC is filled with shopping and restaurants you actually don't ever need to leave if you don't want to.

(I stayed above B&N, and next to Anthropologie, so I was pretty much in heaven).

Plus it was 5 minutes from the beach. LOVE.
