Entry ways are so important, yet often times neglected.  Spruce yours up by adding a conversation starter table, cool mirror (for that one last look before you run out the door),  and any other cool design elements that just seem "you".

  A boudoir is defined as a private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room, and doesn't that word just sound so fancy and French and sexy.  Make your own boudoir by adding a lounger, full length mirror, golden accessories, and accent lighting.  Peek at the links below and turn your room into a boudoir (say that in a super fancy way).

 Is is just me or does anything island or tropical looking make you just feel more relaxed?  Like a fern, wicker, bright colors, you just feel more free.  You see what I'm doing here right?  Having you turn your home into a permanent vaca spot.  Pick up some of these items and start walking around in your newly pedi-ed bare feet and it'll feel like you're in the Bahamas, right in your own home.

Love lace on clothes, so why not love lace in your home?  Lace is great since it can read vintage, soft and girly or chic, basically any way you want it--lace can do it.  Use it on your walls, rugs, frames, candles, bedspreads, wherever.

Usually when you think black and white floors you think of the 50's, but don't these look so modern?  Add some cool black & white patterns to your floors during your next home improvement--it makes the rooms look huuuuuge.  Mix in some other neutrals, or a pop of color, or both.  Can't really go wrong here.

I'm not necessarily an all pink girl, but pink accents are something I can get behind. Instead of feeling blue, add some pink around the house.  I don't know why, but the color can just make you feel happy.

As you might be able to tell, I'm obsessed with metallics, especially gold, and I think you should be too.  Metallics don't have to just be in your jewelry or clothing, try to incorporate it into your home like on your table.  Start small and mix with a neutral and soon enough you'll be going full Liberace.

I will be the first to say that I love the copper and rose gold trend that's popular right now. Sure it's a no brainer when it comes to jewelry, but have you ever thought to incorporate it into your home design? I know, so chic. Here's some other favorites:

When I decided to take part in a the DKNY Fragrance holiday shoot last month, the team and I were on really tight deadline and if it wasn't for Kristen and her staff at Angersteins Lighting we may have been left in trouble. (aka left. in. the. dark.)

The team not only helped find and install a few lights very quickly, but they also trusted in my "particular" taste. The first light we decided on was the Harding chandelier in bronze. It was an easy pick. Took one look at it and named it the mother of all chandeliers. It's got 48 bulbs, (48!) which seems intimidating for a dining area, but on a dimmer it's just perfect and was honestly the star of the shoot.

picking fabrics

Prepping the living room for a fun shoot, which leaves me just a few weeks to make some big design decisions. I'm working with a really amazing company in Wayne, PA called Aubusson Home to make it all happen quickly (Peggy and Loretta = you are design magicians). Can't decide which fabric, can you please weigh in???
