I am leaving for nyfw today, and I just want to take a moment and say how thankful and appreciative I am to be invited back to see such beautiful things year after year. I began receiving invitations to shows a few years ago as my art business began to grow, and I have attended every season since seeing more an more breathtaking shows each year. I spent my first fashion week seeing 4 shows and staying at a close friends house and now I'm a regular at the empire hotel with a busy schedule. Things have changed alot over the years but one thing remains constant- the feeling of inspiration I have at the end of each show.

My days during this week have always been filled with beauty, both at the shows and while away from lincoln center. This year I will visit for 5 days filled with runways shows, presentations, meetings and dinners with fabulous fashion friends.

I'll be sure to tweet the entire trip as usual and send lots of fun pictures for you. A favorite show of mine is always Monique Lhuillier so I'll start with this shot of her coral dress , above.

While working on last week's fifteen-nineteen moodboard, I was busy searching for all things cozy. In January and February I find myself wanting to stay inside more than usual, so I try to make my home as welcoming as possible.

Add some extra pillows to encourage a relaxing evening in front of the television. Here are my favorites, mix them in with the ones you already have for a more effortless feel, and a more practical price.

Jane By Design

Recently, the ABC Family team invited me to be a part of the Jane By Design Style challenge, to celebrate their new show which aired last night. Just after I was invited to participate, I went to Florida for some time. So, here are the rest of the challenges! Hope you enjoy them. (If you do, please let abc family know via twitter #jbdstylechallenge.

In round 4, I was given a holiday sweater and asked to make it into something a bit more pleasing to the eye. I decided to cozy everything in my house.

In Round 5, I was asked to take a white button down from work to play. I chose to layer it for work and let it stand out during a night out (very chic). I love a white button down as a layering essential.

In round 6 , I chose to show off some some simple home-styling ideas. I was instructed to get inspired by a bag of pretzels. (I know right?) But, I immediately I thought of a set of vintage cake trays I have that seem as if they are lined in pretzel shapes. Thought it would be nice to how you have to grab some around the house items for a simple kitchen display.

Walt Disney World

Happy New Year! I been in Walt Disney World since Christmas and just returned home last night.

I spend alot of time there as some of you know, but what many of you don't know is that the reason I am so attached to the place is because I grew up there.

When I was young I wrote a letter to the head animator and asked for a job. To make a long story short, after visiting yearly as a child, I worked there in college and lived there for years. I worked in the animation building just before beginning my business in art/fashion. Many clients tell me my fashion illustrations have a sort of whimsy to them- I credit this to what I learned from Disney.

I don't have one specific style icon. But I do have a few women who have influenced my style over the years. Jenna Lyons, SJP, Miroslava... None of them are similar in style, but each has a playful effortless approach to clothing that I really love.

The 2nd style challenge from the team at Jane By Design was to create a tee shirt inspired by my style icon (s). The trunk included a plain white tee and fabric markers. Here is what I came up with. Hope you enjoy!

Jane by Design Style Challenge

Yesterday, as I was in my office working on a project for dkny, fielding calls from my newest client in London, and struggling with my twitter account (#twissues)...when a very large package arrived at the door. I finally managed to get the heavy package into my office and I opened it to find a large white trunk. The trunk was filled with a dress form, pretzels (?), a tacky holiday vest, crafting supplies... and a note that says more instructions will follow.

Just last week I was invited by the team at ABC family to participate in a design challenge for their upcoming show "Jane By Design". To sum up the agreement, I will complete a number of design challenges (with the help of blog readers) and depending how well it goes, I even have the opportunity to get one of my readers' style featured on the ABC Family website.

(Not going to lie, I did confidently tell the ABC team that that my blog readers were the most stylish...)

I have no idea what my first assignment will be for this project, but I will keep you all posted when I have word.

Hey wait, those aren't my fashion illustrations... I'll need to speak with someone about that. ;)

Behind the scenes...

In addition to other projects for the best in the fashion world, I am the artist behind the @dkny pr girl drawings you see on twitter, and the dkny pr girl tumblr page). I have been with the team at DKNY for about 2 years year and I have been so proud to watch this project grow. Our "character" has evolved and become so much more defined over that time. She is recognized by everyone in fashion- especially those in social media.

I was up early this morning (working with a new client in London) and the project called for me to research 50s-like glamour. Long story short, I spent the entire rainy morning researching images of Audrey Hepburn photos. It's only 7 am and I feel like I have seen so many beautiful images today- thought I'd share a few favorites with you.

While I own many very deep shades of polish ( I should own stock in wicked and lincoln park after dark), when it comes to red I usually skip over medium & dark shades and go straight to poppy!

This season I am going to try a little wine on my fingertips. I love this shot that's been circling pinterest, so much that I have been swayed. I think I'll go with a deep red wine shade with a very subtle hint of shimmer in it.

Styled Creative

Since I have relocated to DE I have had the opportunity to meet so many talented people. Today, I am having the artwork photographed for the new website and styled by two women I am lucky to have in my life. Beka and Kimberly, of Styled Creative, will be styling the shoot. I always have 100% trust in them, and am happy to call them friends.

Let's Design Together

Here is where we left off in the office project! If you are following along I should tell you that designing a space one piece at a time is a very long process, but fun if you have a true love for design. We still need seating and some storage solutions but doing it this way has been really interesting and I end up falling in love with each piece, which is nice since I spend so much time here.

I finally received the rugs that were back ordered for so long. I added a studded console, screen, desk chair and a beautiful bamboo light fixture...

I added two mercury glass jars I found at Marshalls Home Goods to the studded table. I plan on filling them with flowers seasonally. Nothing makes me happier than fresh flowers. I also found that even while we are designing I need my pencils handy, so I filled these chic all-black pencils from poppin in a mercury glass jar I originally got at terrain. (Dear creatives, I am equally fussy about office supplies so I love the all black pencils and don't see myself using any others. ever. I also use this ruler which is amazing.)

Megan and I thought the office needed a bit of classic to it, so we choose this monogrammed beauty from luxury monograms. (Seriously amazing gift ideas at this site) The real ceo of the office seems to enjoy it:

The last thing we added is a limited edition tray by Tilly Maison.

I filled it with my address labels, a thumbdrive and some neon tape. All things I use daily.

It can also act as a catchall for other things.

What do you think so far? I love it...

and hope you will use this step by step for a room of your own.
