Just an update on my wonderful week in CA. I am here for meetings with the Walt Disney Corporation and the fabulous ladies at Rachel Zoe...and now I am enjoying some time in Hollywood where, oddly, I have never felt so at home.
Enjoying the winter weather , holiday and Hollywood lights. But most of all, the friendly faces here in CA. Cannot wait to share more.
Recently I have been furniture shopping but doing more searching than buying. I had the chance to ask Nancy to help with some console inspiration. Nancy sent over three that she loved that she thought would be perfect for me.
Couldn't agree more. The top is supper pretty , but I love something with storage just as much
This one's for the moms and gift givers:
A few weeks ago I learned about an amazing line of products by Belli. Belli offers medically responsible skin care products for the concerns of expecting moms, new moms, and babies. Because they know that small amounts of skin care ingredients are absorbed into the bloodstream, Belli makes safety the number one priority.

So today, a giveaway from myself and Belli- for modern moms. You win not only some goodies from Belli, but also a personalized baby print from yours truly. Would make a great gift too! Leave a comment below to enter :) (tweets that link anywhere on the blog get an extra entry. good luck)

I just love the new ad campaign by Tommy Hilfiger. As a very business-minded artist I am always dreaming up new ways to style and present brands and the whole "Meet the Hilfigers" campaign is just brilliant.
All of the details and styling in the new commercial are perfect. And the car!!!
You know I love stripes. So these black and cream candles from ana design were the perfect addition to my room as I slowly redecorate. I bought large vintage candle stick holders in different colors and sizes for these. I think they will additionally look great in my kitchen or dining room- who needs an excuse to add a few stripes to any room?
In a recent interview, I was asked to describe my personal style. I did as best I could: "I am always casual with a touch of prep, and very relaxed with a little glam. I always mix it up."
I love this look above b/c it's a simple gray sweater and a messy top knot, with a gorgeous necklace. Below are some other necklaces that I think would fit this look just perfectly.
A project on Friday required me to research the very prettiest ballet inspired dresses for a drawing. While online- I was distracted my top knots, simple black leotards with deep v's, those amazing studded capezios (you know the ones)... So today I have the urge to dress simply. And stand straighter
I was in dance classes my entire life. Some projects I enjoy more than others. This was one of them.
Saw this photo in german vogue, I love backstage photos as much as I love a runway show, and I thought there was something really simple and beautiful about it. I don't wear green eyeshadow, but thought it might encourage everyone to try some new fun looks this season.
I'm getting lots of email these days about what I do and how it all works. While the canvas process is complicated to explain, I thought I would show you how the fashion illustrations are made. After the clients send a photo (most want likenesses like hair color and eye color in the illustrations) they are able to see the illustrations through steps, before it is put into color:
This one was done last week for a grad gift. The client chose the dress b/c it was the dress worn in the grad pics. Here is the full color illustration.
You can have custom illustrations made as gifts this holiday- but there are just a few spots left for Christmas delivery. And for the fashion lover who may not want herself sketched- there are deals on etsy.
Recently I came across the work of bink and boo. I am so excited to give these as my next baby gift. But I had to share the adorable packaging with you and the sweet handmade details! My favorite part? The business cards have little fabric flags attached. Perfect for a little girl's room! How much doyou love these?!
( B/c I love these so much, all of my blog readers can get a discount at the bink and boo shop! Only through Nov. So while you are doing your holiday shopping for the little ones- make sure you write "Dallas" somewhere in your notes to get 15% off! Happy Holidays!!)
Most of my posts are short and to the point but I could go on for days gushing over Gabriella Sarlo. I love everything about her style. I cannot believe I didnt stop by this amazing showroom while in SF for the art show last summer.
I've decided that I must touch base with Gabrielle before I decorate the office. No. Questions. Asked.
Today, I am working on a large project for French Connection. I am doing illustration and/or style picks for companies like dkny, nine west, rent the runway... and a few more who are so exciting I simply cannot wait to spill the beans.
In addition to that if you would like an illustration for yourself, just send an email right through the website! You don't have to be a designer to put me to work. And if you want a piece of artwork at a bit of a discount take a look at etsy. One of my favorites is there right now:
Buy it and then pick this up from the lovely girls at ban.do
ps) corsage painting comes framed and matted in white. email w questions.
